Music of Meyer Kupferman

Soundspells Productions was established in 1983 by the American composer Meyer Kupferman (1926-2003) to publish his extensive catalogue of music and to produce and release recordings of his works. At the time of his death, more than 600 compositions had been published, and over 30 CDs of his music had been released.

A website on Kupferman's music is maintained at: www.meyerkupferman.com

As of October 2008, Soundspells Productions printed music publications will be distributed exclusively by Subito Music Corporation.

Additional links to online ordering and catalogue listings will be provided as publications are made available through Subito's webstore. Since the catalogue is large, publications will be added incrementally or as demand dictates. Thus, certain works may not be automatically listed at first.

If you need a specific Kupferman work (published or unpublished), please contact us at info@soundspells.com and we will make it available to you. Likewise, please contact us regarding performances and rentals of orchestral works.

The extensive catalogue of Soundspells CD releases are currently available through a number of online purchasing sources, including Amazon.com. By early 2009, all Kupferman releases will be available through digital download sources, such as the iTunes Music Store.

Meyer Kupferman (1926-2003) was born in New York City. An active and prolific composer, Kupferman completed over 600 musical works in all forms, including numerous symphonies, operas, as well as chamber and solo music for every instrument. From 1951 to 1993, he served on the faculty of Sarah Lawrence College in Yonkers, New York. Embracing everything from jazz, romanticism, and 12-tone idioms, his music bursts with life and energy and has been enthusiastically championed by many leading performers.
